20161201-platformsamenleving-180-portlet-mailchimp De Platformsamenleving. Strijd om publieke waarden in een online wereld is a book I co-authored with Jose van Dijck and Thomas Poell.

In the book we explore the way public values can be safeguarded and/ are under threat in a world where social, economic and civic interaction is increasingly mediated by digital platforms. We have examined three case studies: private & public transport, journalism and higher education.

The book is published as an open access publication and can be downloaded here. It’s written in Dutch. We are working on an English version as well, which we hope to publish in 2017.

The book will be launched during a public event at the KNAW (The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences) on december 1 2016. The programme can be found here.
